Plant Swap

Thin your plants! Dig up seedlings! Root some clippings! Share extra plants you’ve started! Bring some seeds!
Or just come empty-handed and pick out some things to grow.
The Sunset Lake Watershed Advisory Committee (SLWAC) is hosting a Neighborhood Plant Swap.
Outdoor or indoor plants are welcome.

Please drop off between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Swap starts at 9 a.m.
Help us by labeling plants with as much information as you can provide based on what you know or where it was growing in your yard:
-Name of plant (if known)
-Light requirements (sun, shade, part sun, etc.)
-Soil and water requirements (dry, moist, sandy, rich etc.)
-Short description (height, color, when it flowers, etc.)
SLWAC will also be accepting donations of native plants that would grow well in the full-sun and sandy soils in the Lollipop Beach Goose Deterrent Project. We’re choosing to plant natives here because they are well-adapted to our soils and climate and will be low maintenance. Possible plants include New England Asters, Boneset, Blue False Indigo, Goldenrod, Hay-scented Fern, Bracken Fern, Sweet Fern, Meadowsweet, Switchgrass, Chokeberry, Blueberry, Bayberry, Viburnums, and many others. If you have extras of something growing in your yard that would do well in the Lollipop Beach planting area, please dig it up and donate it at the Plant Swap. Need pots for your plant donations? Consider cleaning and reusing plastic milk, juice and yogurt containers.. We hope to see you there!
